Tulips in a
Teapot , 14.5" x 21.75",
Arches 140lb cold press paper.
When I attended a seminar by a nationally
famous watercolor artist, she used an antique teapot with fresh tulips on an old
lace cloth as an exercise. All these elements together left such an
impression that it inspired me to do this watercolor. Original -

For Sale By Owner, 8" x
14" on Arches 140lb cold press paper.
While riding our Harley on a pleasant
spring morning, up the coastline from St. Pete, FL, we took the back roads
looking for old Florida barns and cabins. We found this old tin-roofed
house - and, wow!, it was for sale (had to stop ourselves from putting in an
offer!) Stopped for a lemonade and sandwich and sketched this "Ole Cracker
House". Original $125 Limited edition,

St. Timothy's
Catholic
Church, 10" x 14", on Arches 140lb
cold press paper.
When visiting my brother-in-law in a
small town in central Florida, the local Catholic Church has this beautiful
architecture and people come from miles around to attend Mass here. We
took some photos of it and from them I did this watercolor. Original

Roses & Cherubs #2, 24"
x 32", on Arches 140lb cold press paper.
I like to experiment with floral pictures
with cherubs. We had an old vase that matched the picture in my mind. The
background was a new technique I was experimenting with, doing "wet on
wet" watercolor application.

The
Hurricane, 7.75" x 10.25",
print of pen and ink drawing.
The Hurricane, in Pass-a-grille, FL, an old
beach restaurant/bar that was torn down several years ago and this new 3 story
wooden building replaced it. It's right across the street from the Gulf of
Mexico and I was on the beach (you can see the boardwalk and sea oats in the
foreground) and
sketched this unique building. I rendered it in pen and ink and had prints made.
Now I individually drop watercolors into each picture. Each one is unique,
depending on the amount of pigments and the various colors that I use.

Magnolia #5, 14.5"
x 22", on Arches 140lb cold press paper
This is one of my favorite flowers to
paint because, for 30 years we lived in a house with a huge magnolia tree in the
back yard and when it bloomed the whole backyard was filled with it's delightful
fragrance. We would take the flowers and put them in a bowl of water in the
house and since we didn't have air conditioning, but only ceiling fans, the
fragrance wafted from room to room.

Orange Tulips
#2, 9" x 12", on Arches 140lb cold
press paper
On one of our "grocery safaris"
the local supermarket had beautiful potted orange tulips - we couldn't
resist. As they sat on the dining room table, I thought they would be the
perfect subject for a new technique i was working on, a looser, more abstract
type of watercolor using some alcohol on the surface of the paper and using
"paint spattering".

Parrots, 11"
x 14", prints of original watercolor
A good friend was getting married and I
wanted to give her something special and she said "just paint me some
parrots!". So I studied several books on various types of parrots so
I would get the color combinations correct and then put these two guys in
a Florida foliage background. P.S. - she loved
it! Open Edition Prints $50 Note cards

Garden of
Angels, 10" x 14" print of original
watercolor
The four terra cotta cherubs were a gift
from a friend years ago and they still sit on our étagère in our living room. I
don't remember where we got the roses, but they were some of the fullest and
most delicately colored roses I've ever seen. The composition just flowed
together in this painting. One of my regular customers at the frame shop just
had to buy it for a favorite aunt who loved roses and angels. Original
